Hans Sandgren Jakobsen

Hans Sandgren Jakobsen, industrial designer, was born in Denmark in 1963. He is the only designer to gain Denmark government subsidies and his designs have already been honoured with design prizes such as the Good Design Award, the iF Award and Demark Government Art Fund. His experience in traveling to America has made him deeply influenced by the American Shaker furniture style culture, and he injected practical elements into his simplicity design as his outstanding design features. “I could never make a beautiful chair which was uncomfortable. Conversely, I often experience how great functionality brings out the beauty in the design,” he says.
